There are three jump scares from animals, one is a bear, one a dog and one a freaking mouse. I still cannot tell if this movie is a satire or not. Not just because of the animals but also the deadly serious intro of the priest character who we first see doing push ups in a sparse apartment before going for a run to a bar where he downs a glass of whiskey. Not one person smiles, religious symbolism is thrown everywhere (especially onto Joel McHale's neck and arms for reasons never addressed) and it's not until the finale that a character utters a much needed 'what the fuck?' reflecting our disbelief this movie is actually happening.
