An objectively bad movie, but still mostly enjoyable. The world building is lacklustre and full of plot holes, and despite being a movie about video games, it doesn't seem to understand them. It has that bad exposition problem where Artemis doesn't know anything about Halliday despite being an egg hunter. Artemis also thinks she's ugly despite being the most conventionally attractive person who just happens to have a minor birthmark and red hair. The first challenge is also super easy and there are super obvious hints. It doesn't make any sense why Wade would be the first, or why he "knows Halliday better than anyone". They also achieved the incredible feat of making a Ben Mendelsohn character boring, and a villain at that.
