I just love hanging out with Murderbot
The story is, as so often with this series, a self-contained mission with a few touch points grounding it in the overarching narrative. Just the way I like it.
This time around the setting, a Ringworld space station surrounding a planet, feels like a character unto itself. It's interesting to explore, and paints a picture of Corporation Rim descending into corporate greed driven madness. On the other hand, Murderbot itself feels more emotionally stable and healthier than ever. Its developments are backed by the new therapy module and the emotion-check "mechanic", which I unabashedly loved.
The novel builds on strengths of the series while introducing lovely novelties. Perfect example of why Murderbot remains one of my all-time favorite series.
