Rated Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord 7/10

I enjoyed the series well enough. I will always be happy to have more Star Wars. However, Maul, as a character sucks. He's always sucked and he continues to suck. I think my primary issue with him is that as they tried to expand on him over the years they've suggested that he's this brilliant, but unfortunate character. And he's just not. He's stupid. And I mean that in the sense that he makes stupid decisions and talks like what an idiot thinks a smart person talk like. Has his plans ever actually worked out in his favor BECAUSE of him? No. Either they straight up fail, which is what happens most of the time, or he gets lucky because of some shit someone else far more capable than him achieved. This show almost makes him sympathetic. They spend exactly 5 minutes getting to the root of Maul and I love those 5 minutes. They're the best 5 minutes of Maul ever committed to screen. And I'll stick with the series just for the hope of getting more of those 5 minutes. But it is just 5 minutes.
