What a fantastic read! Even though I don't know much about what life was like for Chinese people in the 1800s and their habits and traditions, it was easy to follow along and quite insightful.
I think it was mostly due to the focus being on very universal emotions and motivations that it was easy to follow for everyone.

I greatly enjoyed being taken into a world that - probably even for contemporaries - must've been very shielded.

Highly recommended for any history buff or anyone interested in Chinese culture.
