Well! I guess I wasn't the only one who wanted more of ART. Although a lot more emphasis on the "A" this time around, I think. It was great to go back to the start, with its humans. The mystery of what was happening was interesting with the "contamination," but to me at least not much of a threat or much of consequence, I guess I could say?

I find Murderbot's internal dialogue much more interesting. In fact, I like seeing the evolution in its thought patterns as it becomes less and less bot-like. It was a very obvious contrast with the handful of internal dialogues by Three. Oh, but I can't skip mentioning 2.0. That was a pretty genius solution for the situation, but also a great opportunity to add to the relationship (ha) of Murderbot and ART.

If there's anything that would try the patience of human or construct it's interacting with an adolescent, especially when heavily armed. The interaction between Murderbot and Amena was yet another great way to show the changes in Murderbot. How it reacts to various humans is much different than it would have back when it first broke free from its corporate owners. More patience and less mentions of how it views humans mostly self-sabotaging by constantly being the murderous ones trying to kill each other. The latter I find hilarious every time.

I was disconcerted to learn while in the last few pages of this book that the next book was a prequel. I was very interested to see what would happen to Three and what, if anything, Murderbot would have to do with that. Stepping backwards in the next novella before all of the events of this book would've been disappointing if I was reading these as they were published.
