After a book 3 where I felt the humans in the story disappointingly weren't as crucial to the story, it was great to see a return of the already developed characters from book 1. The evolution of Murderbot continued apace and especially its relationship with Dr. Mensah was touching and satisfying. So was a corporation getting what it had coming.

The fight scenes continued to be creative and different enough to be interesting, something I'm personally not really into in my books/tv/films and usually tend to skim. The final bit with Murderbot pleading with a faceless/voiceless human somewhere was some good tension and a great development in its evolution, not to mention the conclusion of that scene with its Preservation team.

I was almost hoping ART would somehow manage to be around in the escapes and rescues. The lessons learned while with ART for the heroic turn with the bots that were there, though, was pretty great. ART's influence at least was felt.

On to book 5, unless I can get ahold of a copy of "4.5" before that.
