Book 2 of Murderbot. I managed to get several from this series together, so I can jump from one to the next without stopping. Generally, I'm not a fan of formats shorter than novel because they usually leave me wanting more. I'm reading this series like it's one or two novels.

I like the slow transition of Murderbot changing how it sees itself and how it interacts with the world. I loved the "sidekick," if you will, of "ART" and how it was instrumental in some of that change, allowing a bit of uncoiling and trust to have its back. I hope to see ART again in the future.

Murderbot learns a little more about its past and while knowing more of what happened in its past finds no real comfort in it. That's often the case in traumatic experiences. Seeing it learn more and maybe eventually move on will be good to see.

On to book 3.
