Rated Foundation and Empire 6/10
Having moved on directly from "Foundation" to this one, I found a sudden dip in my interest to power through this book. Eventually I realized that it wasn't the plot which wasn't engaging me. My issue was with keeping up with who was who. I find the names difficult to keep straight due to being too unusual, which is totally a me-problem. The plot itself chugs on with more crises cropping up and a crisis perhaps not dreamed of/calculated by ol' Hari Seldon.

I found it interesting to contrast it with the tv show. With people constantly complaining about how completely different it is, I think they're doing a decent job of making the IDEA of Foundation accessible and modern in a television medium. A lot of the second season merges with "Foundation and Empire" (e.g. General Bel Riose, the Mentalics, Trantor and The Mule) and starts setting up for more plot points to eventually crib from "Second Foundation." I have quite a few other books I need to get through first, but at my next opportunity I'll be moving on to Book 3, "Second Foundation."
