! minor minor spoilers ! lots of feelings about this movie but overall it was a pleasant surprise and i'm glad i decided to give it a chance. the beginning of the movie was so weird and off that i thought i would drop it. really fast pacing and cuts that felt uncharacteristic for that type of movie, uncharismatic characters, i didn't care for their romance at all because i couldn't see where that came from. everything was so fast that i didn't have time to actually fall in love with the couple. after the twins birth, the movie took an absolute positive turn for me! the pace felt adequate and i had proper time to feel every feeling and actually immerse myself in the movie, which gets really emotional and does a great job at that. i'm extremely confused how it seems to be the work of two entirely different personalities, because the later part of the movie definitely knows what it's doing and how to captivate the camera. mostly positive notes about the acting, the photography, the costumes and the scenario, i just wish the movie was more still and physical instead of having so many cuts and jumps. as someone who usually doesn't like period dramas, i really enjoyed this one! it was a last time watch before the oscars and i'm happy i decided to watch it despite being so off my usual choices.
