finally getting a hang of this one after so many years just to say "oh, i see why everyone likes it" not gonna lie, having the animal protection organizations be the true villains of the end of the world is so funny. a lot of this movie may seem like bad creative choices watching from 2026 but everything screams "it's the 00s" SO intensely that it's not hard to get immersed in it. the music video style of editing and colorization, the camera angles and cuts, the costume design are all just so charming the near 2 hour runtime didn't feel stretched out at all and it's honestly just a really solid zombie movie with both the classic "humans are the real monsters" undertone and a more hopeful uplifting view on relationships the super positive reactions to the newest movie is what made me decide to finally give this a go, so i'm really excited to see what's next
