Rated The Maltese Falcon 8/10

Much much better than the 1931 version. Better blocking, lighting is very noir, and Bogart has excellent line delivery. This is a way tighter and stylistic production. Huston is a legend. Peter Lorre is great and Sydney Greenstreet is a real character, if you don’t mind me saying. Mary Astor brings an emotion to the screen that just wasn’t there in 1931. Very cool to watch them back to back like this.
