Rated Elio 6/10

It’s mostly cute and creative, and some heavy and valuable themes are working hard here, but I just didn’t love the movie as much as I hoped. Elio is well done in terms of technical aspects, but the characters didn’t really grab me and the story felt average. There are some nice moments and the finale is pretty decent, but I kept thinking about A Bug’s Life.
