Watched this for the first time and really enjoyed it. I was due for an LA movie. The complaints I remember hearing about this film were that Gosling "never talks" and "nothing happens." Wrong on both counts. I guess in 2011, people wanted straight action out of a movie with this premise. The pacing, atmosphere, performances, and action sequences were all on point. I know we're only a few years out, but this movie felt like it was from the 2010s. Probably Carey Milligan's hair. I wasn't sure about her early on, but I came around. Watched as a double feature with Baby Driver, which stole Drive's "push the bad guy's car off a high ledge" tactic.
