Rae wanted a twisty movie, so I picked this one. She said it was good, but there weren't really any twists; just complexity. Coming back to this 15 years older, I was acutely aware of Nolan's cold, metallic, brain-tingles aesthetic at the expense of any real humanity. Yes, it's gotta a lot of "whoa dude" and lots of really shiny keys jangling at me, but it felt much more hollow than I remember. I've also been thoroughly Kon-pilled since last viewing, and along with how mainstream multiverses and other heady narrative structures have become, it just wasn't as impressive as I remembered. The snowy fortress level is very forgettable. First Nolan film on the home theater, though, and the visuals and sound were very satisfying.
