Rated Y2K 5/10
There are glimpses of a goofy, fun movie in here. But then it takes itself too seriously or gets lazy with borrowed out-of-place humor. I did enjoy the callbacks to that era. The only thing missing from the computer intro was Macromedia Flash. Still, while I'm the target demographic (~40-year-olds) for the setting and references, it also feels like a sincere teen movie. Overall, it's very uneven and unsure of what it's going for. It gets an extra half-star from me for Moony's Garrett. That character is in the top five of white guys with dreads.
