Rated Watership Down 8/10

I've read/listened to this book 2.5 times and really enjoyed this adaptation. The highlights for me were: - the opening creation story - the voice acting - the animation. I don't have a ton of knowledge about 70s animation styles, but there were some scenes that felt really ambitious, like the shot of them in the warren with the camera circling them. - the illustration style. The naturalistic watercolor backgrounds were perfect, and the rabbits matched my imagination. - the violence! - the representation of the characters seeing the Black Rabbit of Inlé Still, it could have used more El-ahrairah storytelling and a longer runtime. It was very rushed, and I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much without knowing what was going on already. And while it captured the stressfulness of their journey, the book oozes a feeling of dread on their journey and the Efrafa plot. Watched the BFI 4K.
