Rated Children of Time 10/10

Lots of big ideas in this one and I like the structure of the novel as well, taking place over at least thousands of years (if not more). Has a lot in common with [b:The Uplift War|234489|The Uplift War (The Uplift Saga, #3)|David Brin|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1375272637l/234489._SY75_.jpg|98235] and [b:A Deepness in the Sky|226004|A Deepness in the Sky (Zones of Thought, #2)|Vernor Vinge|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1217218691l/226004._SY75_.jpg|1270006] but stands on its own. The edition I read had six short stories in the back too (mostly very short).
