I thought I was tired of the Arthurian mythos but I'll always give [a:Nicola Griffith|90780|Nicola Griffith|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1576778220p2/90780.jpg] a chance and I'm glad I did. Style is good, there's a perfect line between epic/mythic/folk tale kind of events taking place and a good detailed story with lots of main character back story and a bit of a gender flip to it, too. Doesn't really leave room for a sequel (and also I thought there would be a sequel to [b:Hild|17332243|Hild|Nicola Griffith|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1375931640l/17332243._SX50_.jpg|24035877] by now).
