This had a lot of fancy literary techniques in it -- it does follow up on the two main characters from [b:A Visit from the Goon Squad|7331435|A Visit from the Goon Squad|Jennifer Egan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1356844046l/7331435._SX50_.jpg|8975330] but I wouldn't say it's a direct sequel. It hops and skips around to different time points and different formats -- all of them are interesting but I think a full novel of any of them might get tiresome. There's also a more science-fiction aspect to it with memory recording/viewing technology (at least in the later parts of the story, it spans several decades). I enjoyed it.
