Rated There's Always This Year: On Basketball and Ascension 10/10

What. A. Book! I cannot put into words how powerful and poetic this book is. The interweaving of LeBron, police violence, and racism is well done. But, as an Ohioan that moved away before the Cavs 2016 championship run, I most connected with how that run made me miss home, regardless of its flaws.

If you enjoyed the interweaving of basketball as method to tell a larger story, check out Boomtown, which is this history of Oklahoma City told through the lens of the Durant Thunder.
