I felt this book. I learned to cook from Top Chef and am very competitive about it. I want it to be great.<br/><br/>But what does that matter when you have no one to share it with? And if you just follow directions instead of making it your own, what’s the point?<br/><br/>I’m doing a lot better than the killer in this book, but it did make me meditate on that point.<br/><br/>As to this book, it had one button: establish fact about person, completely refute it with another person’s interpretation a few pages later, Rashomon style. The narrators growth throughout the book was fun to follow, but man, Japan do be hating on women.
