Rated The Bob's Burgers Movie 8/10

This isn’t a hot take but this is basically 3 episodes of Bob’s Burgers taped together. But if you are a fan of the show (I am) it’s a perfectly delightful way to spend 90 minutes. I wish there was more songs! Particularly because the style in which they were done was so interesting. It felt like one of those counter culture musicals from the 60s and 70s where it wasn’t filmed on a soundstage, it’s hard to describe but it’s really impressive that they managed to do animated musical sequences in a way that didn’t immediately feel like they were just sticking to the Disney formula. The animation in general reminded me of some of the later Peanuts movies. Our seemingly semi-decade reminder of how much charm and life 2D animation would be capable of now if studios would only fork over the cash and let it be.
