Rated A Haunting in Venice 8/10

Speaking as some who liked but didn’t love the other Branaugh Poirot movies this is the best one so far. I think a lot of it has to do with this being the only one that wasn’t obviously shot mostly on a soundstage. Branaugh was able to actually shoot in Venice and it played more to his strengths. He’s so in love with the city of Venice and the set he’s shooting on and it gives the movie a tactile sense that clicks as the thing that’s been missing from his more recent work. This is the first time I feel like I’ve seen the Branaugh that made Hamlet in a long time.
