What a lovely little movie. Simple but so vivid in its emotional stakes. Immediately puts you back into that headspace of being a kid and not really being able to do much for yourself and how frustrating that can be. Like just putting on the display how difficult it is just to be heard, much less understood, as a child. It makes you wonder how you ever communicated with anyone as a kid, because from an adult perspective your problems don't matter at all. I guess this was supposed to be a morality play for kids but I think it's super valuable for adults too. If anything just to remind us that little problems feel huge when you are in the middle of it, and that we should remember that when it comes to stuff that doesn't effect us directly or we don't think is a big deal. I dunno, it's just a super gentle and sweet reminder to be good to each other, take responsibility when you make a mistake, and help whenever you can however you can.
