oh so there IS an in-universe reason why three of the lead characters are white men of the same genre but also Ethan Hawke and Jude Law really don't look that alike?? for a movie that isn't gay they sure wrote it pretty gay. they have Eugene more of a personality than primary love interest Irene it really should have been gay. I mean Vincent and Eugene's dinner date had more chemistry than Vincent and Irene's where they just stared at each other... it's like they didn't even really have anything in common other than working at the same workplace and being pretty anyway I feel like they really did not explore the eugenics bit quite enough. Vincent's brother the cop believing himself truly elite and having a duty to preserve his eugenic status quo by cracking down on his own in-valid brother was a good twist but didn't go anywhere beyond the ridiculous swimming scene, and overall the movie basically just had the structure of a spy movie and nothing more
