Rated They Live 6/10

Cannot emphasize how much nothing this movie is, like, formally, until the last ten minutes and the few “glasses vision” scenes. Feels like the sort of weird, meandering thing a kid who’s just been introduced to the concept of media studies would make. “Hey! You guys! The police have been committing atrocious acts of violence to groups opposed to the implicit biases and goals of the state!” Yeah no shit Sherlock “They’re controlling us with advertisements and television!” No kidding. But! Maybe it got a couple white suburban guys on the side of culture jamming or whatever and that’s worth about three stars.
