Rated John Carter 6/10

little too much *the south will rise again* for my taste, but otherwise a perfectly fine bunch of sci-fi junk (that’s barely laundered eugenics stuff) that’ll keep popping up in every sci fi thing inspired by this book for the next hundred years or so. Liked the space-dog more things should have gross-lovable space dogs and there should be fewer *Noble Savages* and *Blue-Eyed Arabian Princesses* and etc. Also: who is this guy? How come he gets to be the lead of a Disney-backed sci-fi thing in 2012? Did he win a contest? Was everyone else what, busy?
