Rated The Red Winter 10/10

This one was work. Multiple POV characters. Mysterious POV characters interacting in different times with characters they used to know. Significant quantities of gore and death. All bound up in a fascinating and complex alt-history mostly in 18th Century France and countless monsters and people of means. Almost abandoned the book several times but by God I paid good money for it and I'm a sucker for stories that go in directions I didn't think we could go. And way better than an author's first book should be. Also there's Livia the witty succubus.
