Shocker, the hopeless romantic ended up liking it! Even though it didn't shake things up as much as I thought, I do believe that the impact Celine Song had on the love triangle trope, as well as the main topic being the "modern dating scene" (even though it was very rich-class-NYC-coded. However, I do think that focusing on that helped solidify the point more IMO), was more subtle in ways that helped hone the basics of the romance and chemistry between Lucy and the main fellas, thus making things more realistic, even if things ended in the way most people would expect. With how it played out, this movie had its way of saying that in a world where people are actively looking for the ideal partner with no compromise when the real "goal" is finding love... Something's got to give, and I do think that that's a good thing to hear about nowadays. (I also almost cried, if that matters!)
