Rated The Name of the Wind 10/10
Second time through. The writing is just as beautiful and the infatuation equally mesmerizing. This book reminds me in every way why I first started reading fantasy novels as a teenager. You can invent a world, you can create systems of magic and currency, but they are simply an aesthetic, a structure for the delivery of truth. Human emotion is universal, and some authors manage to describe it exactly as you feel it. Pat Rothfuss does so here. The trappings of fantasy, the perfect use of language, and the good story are simply a bonus.
