Rated Fire Island 6/10
Joel Kim Booster wrote a heartfelt, funny, and emotionally resonant film with a cast full of people I enjoy. It is held back for me by the fact that I find Noah to be an annoying character in a way that is not quite enjoyable for me to watch. He has a great arc, and ends in a place that feels right but the first half of the movie a find a little painful. Honestly, I think this could be seen as a positive: he is very real, I've been that guy before, but he bugs the shit out of me. Incredible performances all around, particularly from Booster and Yang, and the rich house acrors all do an excellent job of being insufferable assholes. A strong film-writing debut, though not entirely for me, and I am excited to see more from him.
