This is a stunningly intimate film, with a naturalistic style that hides how each shot is precisely dialed in to tell a specific and clear story about a brief-but-powerful relationship. It's going to sound like a strange comparison, but this film fits in the same category for me as Die Hard - movies that know exactly what they want to be, and exactly how to be it. Through Glen, the film takes a well-deserved shot at "the Straights" for being more willing to seek out art about suffering and violence than art about queer intimacy. I'm certainly guilty of that, and I'm hoping this can help nudge me into broadening my artistic horizons more.
