Rated The Fantastic 4: First Steps 6/10
An enjoyable film that works reasonably well, not least because of an appealingly retro 1960s design aesthetic, solid castings and no links to the wider Marvel universe. The problem is that while it's good, it never takes enough risks to venture into great. It feels like a safe film, which on occasion feels like it could have been so much more.
