Great movie. It's ultimately a space epic with plenty of comedic relief and a tale of an unlikely friendship. While I felt like the movie stayed relatively true to the book, I wouldn't say it was a perfect adaptation. Some of the more "scientific" chapters of the book where Grace is working through a problem he needs to solve were really glossed over, and some details from the book just didn't make it into the movie. And on top of that, the beginning of the movie felt very rushed and sparse on context compared to the book. But mostly the movie just omits certain details from the book rather than adding new ones, which I felt was pretty reasonable. At the end of the day it was a really fun watch, and I'll likely watch again at some point. I'd recommend this to anyone
