Rated Salt Fish Girl: A Novel 10/10

An anti-capitalist perambulation set in a queer speculative fantasy dreamscape, following an Asian American protagonist. Read it for the ride, not clarity of plot. Things happen, and so they do. The universe fragments itself upon observation, splitting to meet each of our sensory channels and then re-collaging itself in our central nervous system as what we call "experiencing". The visceral, embodied, felt sense of things isn't actually that far from the abstracted, the thought through, the rationalization that we do. The sooner we recognize that, the sooner we can get back to being in our body, being in our home, and being in our communities, fighting for justice, peace, and love. The meeting point is this liminal, stream of consciousness, half-awake creature-body. This book is about that. It's also about radical belonging and feeling into forgiveness, solidarity, collective movement, and self-sovereignty.
