Rated The Batman 7/10

There's no denying The Batman’s aggressive and relentless approach, but this is both its strength and its Achilles' heel. It's a movie that demands your full attention, but it also struggles to maintain an emotional connection over its lengthy runtime…certainly for me.  While its sound and cinematography are particularly special, with a thick brooding atmosphere that's you can almost reach out and touch, these qualities tend to fade into the background as the film progresses. That initial awe gradually gives way to a sense of fatigue due to the unrelenting intensity of the narrative and that bloody endless repetition of Ave Maria!!! It's a good reminder that even movies that are technically impressive need to keep the audience invested.  In the end, The Batman is a mixed bag. While it shines bright even in dark places, it may leave viewers like me feeling a wee bit emotionally disengaged. Which is a shame.
