Don't let the fact that Ken Loach directs mislead you. This is a bright and breezy film following a group of neds who are trying to go straight. The path they choose, however, is fraught with pitfalls as they decide to pull off a heist at a whisky distillery. Despite having one of the most disgusting scenes of all time, I enjoyed this way more than expected. Interesting characters matched with an edge of the seat storyline, make this one of the most enjoyable movies of the year.
