Rated Novocaine 8/10

This was a fun time! Its biggest flaw is overpadding the length, but I was invested in Nate Caine's character and actually enjoyed the origin story when I expected to be thrown into his antics in the middle of his superhero career. The Amber Midthunder plot was distracting at first, because of course it reads like an outdated male fantasy. The movie seems smarter than that, so you're waiting for the shoe to drop. There's still probably a lot that can be said about how the film treats her character, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for the relationship.
