Rated Final Destination Bloodlines 6/10

This was pretty hyped-up as among the best in the series, so I went in with expectations that were too high. As it is, I don't find this matches my favorite - Final Destination 3. One of the reviews I consumed pointed out that these set of characters are more likable than the stock of jerks and doofuses that on some level deserve what's coming to them. But that's the issue. As a result of having more interpersonal connectivity, these characters have trouble standing on their own and that includes the lead. There's no poetic justice or tragedy in the death of that one cousin who gets crushed by the dump truck. They were just...a cousin. There's some theme here about the pain of disconnecting yourself from your family and the wounds that causes on both sides of that divide. But for a 14-year hiatus, there's been a backsliding in taking these mortal themes and giving them heft. MVP kill goes to the MRI machine, of course.
