Rated Hadestown: The Musical 8/10

After seven years of listening to this musical, the proshot cements "Chant" as my favorite number. I will say, all the Hell City imagery is something designed to see live and that's where it has its full effect, but Hadestown has plenty of juice to work beyond the format and the close-up work on this production is marvelous. This filming does give me new appreciation for Persephone's nuances and the energy Amber Gray delivers in "Our Lady of the Underworld," as well as how "Doubt Comes In" is structured to deliver maximum impact.
