Appropriately, I checked out this book from my local library. I am a bit of an archivist at heart (though not professionally), so the details about the fire and the losses and the attempts at salvaging some of the materials were rather suspenseful for me. This is a great look at both the history of the Los Angeles Public library, thoughts about libraries in general, and a crime without a satisfying end. Definitely recommend.
