Beautifully written, intense and bleak. It’s about an impoverished family in the lead up to Hurricane Katrina so the level of human trauma is high (but also be forewarned there’s some dog trauma too if you’re especially sensitive to that). Not as much of a knockout as her Sing, Unburied, Sing, but still very good.
