Rated Too Like the Lightning 6/10

Interesting but ultimately frustrating - it’s intricately world-built and full of ideas and reasonably engaging, but ultimately it’s over-written, too many ideas crammed in at once, conceits upon conceits in content and form. Wanted to like it more than I did. May seek out the second one eventually if only because this one ends at the halfway point of the larger story, but I’m not in a hurry to do so.
