Rated Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts 8/10

a quick read and insightful, with lots of good, applicable ideas. Recommended with some mild reservations. the primary reservation is that it feels like a business consultant's talk extended out to book length, which it kind of is: in addition to being a successful poker player Duke also does some business consulting. so there's a lot of repetition, a lot of introduced buzzwords, and a lot of talk that's very business-eye-view (which is to say, value-neutral and geared toward outcomes like "market share"). If you're hoping for a memoir of the life of a poker player (I kind of was), this isn't that; you don't need to get poker to extract value out of this book. But I found myself taking a lot of notes and nodding along to the key points, even if i was a little (thinky-face emoji) at a few.

anyway, this is constructive and sharp, brief and easy to get into, a little more slight than i think it intends to be, worthwhile overall.
