Rated How to Live: A Life of Montaigne in One Question and Twenty Attempts at an Answer 10/10

Montaigne is one of those names I know, but somebody whose work I never actually read. I love Bakewell's Montaigne - decent, curious, non-dogmatic, containing multitudes. This is a very cleverly-constructed and breezy intro to his work, looking at his own life and the legacy of how readers of different eras interpreted him.
