Rated The Swerve: How the World Became Modern 8/10

A classy version of one of those pop-history "here's a slightly obscure thing that's much more influential than you realize" books. A little slighter than I was hoping; the vast majority of the text concerns the social/political/religious context of the discovery of the ancient philosophical tract in question, and only the last third-or-so concerns the impacts. I'd compare it a little unfavorably with the masterful [b:The Invention of Nature: Alexander von Humboldt's New World|23995249|The Invention of Nature Alexander von Humboldt's New World|Andrea Wulf|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1452449264l/23995249._SX50_.jpg|43595986]. But I definitely enjoyed it - it's a quick read for such an abstruse topic.
