Rated The Talented Mr. Ripley 8/10

A delight - I'd seen and enjoyed the recent movie version but the book is great too. I won't get too much into the plot because the unfolding of it is a treat, but Ripley is an excellent character, a grifter who carries out his poses and tricks because he thinks of himself as a little nothing in a big world. You get to experience all of the ups and downs with him, seeing the tension and risk and his confidence that it will all go well or all fall apart.
