Very very good. A really concrete and palpable, but still mysterious, dystopian world. Shifts between the perspectives of its two main characters, and between their present and their backstory, really effectively. Creepy but not overly bleak (maybe I have a high bleakness threshold, though). Just the right mix of dreamlike and relatable. I would read a whole bunch of novels set in different parts of this setting, but it feels really intimate, with the national scope just suggested around the edges. Recommended!
