Loved loved loved this book as a kid; re-reading it as an adult I get why I liked it, enjoyed the experience, but it's definitely optimized for younger readers. I did remember how sciencey it was, but didn't remember how religious it was; as a kid it's not so much that I missed it as that I took it for granted because I was a churchgoer for whom religion was more a default than is the case now. I wonder how it lands for a kid reading it for the first time today.
